I’m excited to dig into Xamarin because mobile apps need authentication and authorization, which Stormpath makes easy. You can build Xamarin projects on Windows (using Visual Studio), or Mac/Linux (using Xamarin Studio). If you haven’t tried Xamarin yet, now is a great time to get started! Earlier this year, Microsoft bought Xamarin and made it free (and open-source). Like its younger siblings NativeScript and React Native, it allows development teams to build mobile applications using the skills they already have, and spend less time writing code for each platform. This creates a new Grid with a label and a button.Xamarin is a cross-platform technology that makes it possible to build native mobile apps for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone using C# and a shared codebase. In the bottom pane, we can add a couple of controls using the following XAML. The Properties panel allows you to set properties of the selected component. The bottom portion provides you with the XAML code so you can quickly make changes and see them reflected in the designer at the top. You can visually drag and resize components within the designer view. The top pane shows the current designer view. When you click this button, it will open PSScriptPad and present you with the XAML editor for your WPF Window. When you install the PowerShell Pro Tools extension for VS Code, it will include a new button at the top of XAML files to show a form designer. PowerShell Pro Tools provides a drag and drop editor for WPF XAML files. Running this script should produce a window like this. The ShowDialog method call will open the window. It returns a Window object that we can then call methods on. The function reads the window.xaml file and then loads it using the XamlReader class. $manager = New-Object -ArgumentList $xaml.NameTable $xaml = Get-Content -Path $PSScriptRoot\window.xaml
